What's within "The Future for Us" ?

What do we desire to be as a city? and how do we see our youth being a part of it ? How do we see our seniors as not being left out of the loops in connecting the present with the future ? What type of city do we see our future efforts creating ?

Question are many things, and vary from district to district, and sectors of the city within districts - How do we plot the course and what are the points that will indicate our forward progress.

  • We've embarked on the process to clean the city
  • We've engaged the actions to curtail crime
  • Our schools are in deep discussions and pursuits to find ways to improve education

These are very vital components that matter to all of us.

How do we rid ourselves, of the often pushed attitude of " I got mine", they need to get their". Or one segment who has achieved economic means, having a down cast attitude against challenged ones. What does it take to diminish the separating attitudes, of thinking " I did it all my self", why "other can't do it all themselves".. When reality is evident. No one succeeds alone nor all by themselves, its always a network of supporting characters within the process.
That truly does not mean it does not take individual efforts, and individual determination as well as individual sacrifices. Because it most certainly takes all of that and more. But it also takes us remembering what we so easily forget- and that is, the many people along the pathway, who gave when we did not recognize we were receiving. Therefore- its is a vital element to remain with a sense of humility in the face of the vast society, and the challenges others face within navigating for stability and progress.

Are we willing to teach, or to extend kindness and hold a mindset of considerations ? Do we get above the regard of what it means to lend a hand, and share an experience, or to work together to meet an objective ?
As a nation - we span the Globe- with the acts to build other nations, and rebuild those we damage with wars and those we find damged by other means. - But what will be our actions within this nation, to rebuild in the communities of our cities ?

We have industrial towns, that have been left to erode - our once famed 'Motor City", is no more, but a mere broken down shambles, The Steel Towns of Yesterdays, an abandoned landscape, sucumbing to surburan sprawl, which is itself, now finding the challenge of distance simply to get to work. States that once earned more than the GNP of some foreign countries, now claiming bankrupt, and cutting basic services. We see a cycle of such, followed by medical facilities closing across the nations, when a nation is having a crisis with health and the care of families. If this does not prompt us to ask " what is the future of us " ? What will it take - before such a question, becomes of prime importance ?

What is the Future we choose - and what is the Future we seek within our choices ? Is it only for and of self, or does it engage to consider what is "community" ? What becomes the value of community? and what value can we bring unto what is community ?

We see a world today, where many things fall, even the Churches, which years ago supported, youth programs, they had a variety of functions that engaged the community, many historic church facilities had community centers, and outreach groups - Yet- Today we see many that cannot fill half their seats on Sundays Mornings. We see building sitting with closed community centers, and facilities that open only for a few hours on Sunday, and sit as vacated facilities for much of the week.
We see a society now- either unable or challenged where we can no longer support our YMCA - YWCA and other programs that were a support apparatus in our cities.
We have now a diminished volume of "little league" , "soccer" and other youth activities, many of which gained a great deal of support from the small business community. Unfortunately we see our small business community devastated, from one city sector to the next.

There is a method of progressing through the madness- and we may find it becomes truly- something we must work through to find better ways to work together. We must find a want and need to rebuild our economic base within communities, and create a new passion for small business. But first we must see the benefit and need which small business fills. It reverberates in and through all our areas of what makes a community.

Each segment of the city, begins to show cracks of erosion, when the small store fronts are closed and building abandoned, and some decaying and some becoming truly a past decayed eye sore. These are far more a matter of concern than we may have given our deepest regard for.

If we look about the nation and look about the cities from state to state, be it big city, or small town, when the small business meets failure- so does the town suffer in every other aspect of being a city or town.

Where do we begin - do we look for mega corporations to give us a life line, do we consider that multi national companies can engage into a new building boom, that will enrich us within the immediate future ?

How will we consider growth, and how will we choose to pursue growth ?

Becomes a Question - with many components to consider

  1. How does Tourism and it's meaning benefit us ? What must we do to attract it ?
  2. How does the conditions of our schools prosper us, should they be in top condition both in appearance and performance ?
  3. How does cultural relevant improvements in the development of our landscape aid us ?
  4. What type of 'fast learn" training programs benefit us ?
  5. What will be our choice as to our position in the Technology sector as a city and a region ?
  6. Will we pursue the building or attractions of the new generations of manufacturing - for Solar Panels, New Battery Technology, new Gas processing, and what expanse will we go in our recycling developments ?
  7. How will we rebuild the decayed communities, and turn them into new age improved and a revitalized community ?
  8. How far will we allow "gangs" to become a fixture in our community and city framework ?
The questions can be many- and over time, surely they will continue to expand, in becoming more questions - Which pose unto us..

a simple questions..

What's within "The Future for Us" ?
